Energy Performance Certificates:

It is clear to us that the October implimentation date for all none domestic (commercial) premises is going to cause significant delays in transactions relying on Energy Performance Certificates (EPC's). This being as a result of the shortage of qualified accredited energy assessors in the UK marketplace. 

ASAP's best advice is to commission EPC's now for any premises you know will be available for rent or sale in the period from October 2008. They have a 10 year shelf life and this will avoid potential delays in commercial transactions.
