What You Need To Do - Asbestos & Disposal?
Where an assessment shows that Asbestos is liable to be present, the duty holder has to ensure that a written plan is developed. Regulation 8 (c) of The Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006 (CAR 2006) states that you must identify the measures to be taken for managing the risk this material poses.
CAR 2006 Regulation 9 (b) states that the management plan must include adequate measures for "ensuring any asbestos or any such substance is properly maintained or where necessary safely removed."
How Can We Help - Advice Asbestos Disposal?
ASAP project manage the encapsulation and / or removal of Asbestos Containing Materials (ACM's). It is important to note ASAP are not contractors but a consultancy, uniquely placed to provide independent advice on asbestos and its encapsulation / disposal.
ASAP prepare the specification for encapsulation and then obtain competitive quotes from licensed Asbestos Removal Contractors for this work. These include members of either ARCA (Asbestos Removal Contractors Association) or TICA (Thermal Insulation Contractors Association).
ASAP review and check HSE Notification (ASB 5), risk assessments, method statements and the programme of works. The interface with client operations is sympathetically managed to minimize the impact onto our client's operations.
The works on site remain under the control of the appointed Contractor with independent air monitoring and clearance certification organised by ASAP. This gives the client confidence that the works have been properly completed and that the premises are safe to reoccupy. Once completion is achieved ASAP collate disposal / clearance paperwork and update the Asbestos Survey / Asbestos Management Plan.
